Girls gone green?

I’m not sure what to think about this.
On one hand, the combination of girl power and green sensibilities sounds like a force to be reckoned with. (Like!)
But on the other hand, the language used to market the book sounds flimsy and faddish (FAIL). What do you think?

Pretty bad FAIL in my mind. Seems like just another way to make money off of consumer’s interest in addressing global weirding. I agree–the langague on the website sounds awfully faddish.

Do you turn people away from your cause if they are following for the wrong reason? As hollow as the marketing fluff is, if this can open a dialogue with typical “material” girls and get them thinking about the environmental impacts of their decisions or even make going green chic, I say more power to them. That being said, it sounds like more garbage to me.

Does their target market consist of the type of people that would not know a book called “Girls Gone Green” was about girls that go green and need a separate first sentence specifically to tell them that? Hope the book is better than the language in the marketing.
